All expectations were exceeded….Jack and his team provided a priceless experience. The abundant animals, lack of other explorers and the great service team were all exceptional including camp manager, Six, and guides….Michael, Sampson, Steve and Jeff…along with the entire team….close exposure to the different tribes was extremely interesting as well as the close proximity to animals including baby cheetahs, giraffes and elephants. …and so many more! Facilities, equipment and food were superior.. An experience never to be forgotten!!! Rand and Carol McNally…March 2026

Our second expedition with Wheeler-Windsor, as wonderful as Scotland two years before. Blessed with friendly and interesting participants, leadership by Jack and Eddie (who both know so much about so many subjects) and a logical itinerary. The facilities used were top notch. While the weather was unseasonably wet, the guides worked hard to show us what we had expected to see...and paid for it with extra work digging out stuck cars while we watched from the brunch table. An unforgettable experience. Could only have been improved if Rebel had been available to join us!

Dear Bob and Debbie, I'm so glad that you enjoyed your luxury Serengeti experience and seeing the large numbers of animals. Yes, the in-country guides are wonderful. I do know that Jack and Eddy both very much enjoyed your company -- and the conversations! Weather is always a bit of a wild card (funny, it rained once in all the times I've been there!) I appreciate that I was missed -- and I missed being there with you. Looking forward to seeing you again on an expedition. Best, Rebel Holiday (and Jack Wheeler)

We are very pleased to have taken the opportunity to join this extraordinary venture. Led by expert travel and exploration guides, Jack and Rebel, we were treated to some of Portugal's most spectacular highlights from Lisbon to Porto. Informed and inspired by their first-hand and historical insights, we experienced an enlightening tour of centuries-old castles, cathedrals, fortresses and museums, interspersed with today's infrastructure, unique perspectives and evolving place in the world. Our accommodations and dining were of the finest quality and our hosts were sensitive to the needs and personal characteristics of the tour members. We only wish there had been more time to explore some of the fascinating intricacies and delicacies encountered along the way. From the ancient to the contemporary, this Portugal Exploration proved to be uplifting, informative, humbling and breathtaking.
Portugal Exploration Oct 3-12, 2025
Greetings Sue, I'm delighted that you enjoyed Portugal to the fullest. We loved having you and it was a pleasure to share this special country with all it's history, culture and natural beauty with you both. Yes, although we do pack a lot into 9 days to give you a good "taste" and feeling for the country and people -- it's only once you dig in here you realize how much more there is to see and do! (It still surprises me after more than a decade.) Thank you for your full participation and positive energy on the journey. You are always welcome on one of our trips. Best, Rebel and Jack

There aren't adequate superlatives to describe the complete and total satisfaction my Wife and I experienced on this Expedition. The planning and execution of the trip by Rebel and Jack was very detailed and covered every contingency. We would wholeheartedly recommend Wheeler Travels and are looking forward to maybe taking another trip in the next couple of years if a destination seems like a good fit. Thank you, Jack, and Rebel!

Fantastic! Taking a safari like this has always been a bucket list item for me. When I read the itinerary for this trip, it just hit the spot. Jack and Rebel were amazing hosts. Jack's experiences and contacts with local tribes added so much to the trip. I don't really know, but I would guess that most safaris are almost 100 % in search of the animals. The Wheeler safari's search for the animals was fantastic, but the contact with the indigenous people we met added so much to the overall experience. The "camp" was great. First class food and incredibly great service. There were far more people taking care of us than there were guests. After just a couple of days, I think the "staff" knew all of our names and which tent we were staying in. Speaking of the tents, this was first-class glamping! The "rooms" were better than most hotels and the staff made sure everything was clean and neat all day long. The safari guides were also fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful to our understanding about each type of animal. And the trackers always seemed to know where we should go. After the "camp" experience we went to an extremely nice hotel that overlooked the huge caldera where we again saw so many animals. The rooms and the food at the hotel were excellent and better than I expected. And as a parting gift, just as we were all leaving the caldera to go back to the hotel for the last time, a parade of 24 (there is a little disagreement about exactly how many there were) elephants walked in front and along our 3 safari vehicles. What a great finish to our time in Tanzania. Great trip, great people, great hosts, and just a wonderful experience.
